What is BodyTalk?
The BodyTalk System is a revolutionary form of healthcare that works with your body's own innate ability to heal itself to promote optimum health and well being. Australian Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, Dr. John Veltheim, established the BodyTalk System in 1995. Since then it has been taught to over a thousand practitioners worldwide. Graduates include doctors, psychologists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, naturopaths, physical therapists, osteopaths, nurses, licensed massage therapists, and laypeople.
The body is healing itself all of the time. When there is a breakdown in communication between parts of the body, it is no longer able to function properly and the ability to heal itself is impaired. The reasons for such breakdowns in communication can be varied e.g. what we eat, what we drink, our environments, people we interact with and stresses imposed upon us.
A BodyTalk Practitioner is trained to locate the miscommunications in the body and the factors that they are linked to, using a simple form of muscle testing called neuromuscular biofeedback. The Practitioner follows a strict protocol to ensure that they deal with the client’s priorities rather than imposing their own agenda on to the session. Clinical results have shown that once these lines of communication are reestablished, the body has the potential to heal itself on a deep and lasting level.
The BodyTalk System does not rely on diagnosis, and the Practitioner does not prescribe, use invasive techniques, or do anything that can cause harm to the body. This makes it one of the rare healthcare systems that can be classified as totally safe and truly holistic in its approach to reestablishing the optimum health of the patient. BodyTalk's major assets are its simplicity, safety and the speed of its results. Because BodyTalk targets the root problem rather than addressing the most apparent symptom, Clients see long-lasting ongoing improvements in health rather than purely short term symptomatic relief. BodyTalk can be integrated seamlessly into all other health modalities, as well as be used as a stand alone system.
Professional BodyTalk practitioners must undergo an intensive training program that involves both theoretical and practical course content. BodyTalk certification can only be issued by the International BodyTalk Association. For a more in-depth explanation of the BodyTalk System please visit the IBA's website www.bodytalksystem.com
